Installation Tutorial Counter-Strike Server [Linux] (Wed, July 16, 2008 11:39 am)
RESOURCES NEEDED:
- A computer with Linux installed or access to SSH
- Privileges / access to root
- Internet connection (speed at least 100kb / s local and external) over fiber. Subscriptions gender or Astral CableLink RDS are not recommended. If you have such subscription, no more than 5 people you can keep the server and ping times will jump from 10 to 100 and so on simply because the speed is not guaranteed to these subscriptions.
- At least 1 GB disk space
- Wget, Screen and a text editor (Pico, Nano or Mcedit)

RESOURCES Downloads:
1. Half-Life Dedicated Server Update Tool (download: Link)
2. Auth NonSteam Engines (for crackuirea Server) (Download: Link!)
3. AdminMod metamod (Download: Link!)
4. StatsMe (Download: Link StatsMe 2.8.3; Link documentation - optional!)

Installing Server:
1. Create a folder where you have installed the server. We will take as an example:
Code:
mkdir / usr / hlds
cd / usr / hlds

2. If you followed the steps up here, you must be in / usr / hlds and have downloaded the above files in this folder. Let's start with hldsupdatetool.bin
Code:
chmod x hldsupdatetool.bin
. / hldsupdatetool.bin

Of commands above should result in a new file called Steam!

3. Write the following command:
Quote:
. / steam-command update-game valve-dir.

* Be possible to update (to do his updates) and then asked to execute the above command again. Nothing, press up arrow and enter. Depending on connection speed it may take from several minutes to several hours and ends with the message:
Code:
HLDS installation up to date

Installing a site Counterstrike
Write command:
Code:
. / steam-command update-game valve-dir.

Again, depending on connection speed, may take from several minutes to several hours and ends with the message HLDS installation up to date

Patched the server to accept clients NosTale
This is done through the commands:
Code:
rm-rf engine_amd.so
rm-rf engine_i486.so
rm-rf engine_i686.so
tar xfvz engine.v15.tgz

server.cfg
/ Usr / hlds / cstrike have a server.cfg file that you open with pico, nano, or whatever you mcedit there .. delete everything that is written here and add these cvar's:
Code:
hostname "Server Name"
mp_autokick 0
mp_autocrosshair 0
mp_autoteambalance 0
mp_buytime 2
mp_consistency 1
mp_c4timer 35
mp_fadetoblack 0

exec banned.cfg
rcon_password PASSWORD

The HOSTNAME write server name (eg "extremely CS 1.6 server).
The previous password with a password which we can control the remote server. The rest, do not change anything unless you know exactly what it is.

Installation AdminMod
I downloaded earlier HalfLife AdminMod 2.50.60 Windows.rar extras wherever you are:
Code:
tar xfvz halflife-admin-2.50.60-linux.tar.gz

We have a new folder called Adminmod. From here perform the commands:
Code:
cd Adminmod
. / install_admin

It will appear to answer the first question to Yes (press Y and Enter)
Further, we will ask which is the default directory (default) installation of HLDS. Answer with / usr / hlds and enter. Then you have to choose how we want to install adminmod. Type 1 and enter. Then Y and enter the following two questions and ready.

Minimum configuration AdminMod
Go to the / usr / hlds / cstrike / addons / adminmod / config:
Code:
cd / usr / hlds / cstrike / addons / adminmod / config /

Here we have some files that require our attention. We start with adminmod.cfg that you open with pico, nano or mcedit.
Code:
Nano adminmod.cfg

Even if I explained each one will try to explain and I briefly what are some of them.

admin_balance_teams - no interest, so let it 0
admin_bot_protection - if set to 0 and running a server with bots, this admins will be able to slay, kick, ban, bots.
admin_connect_msg - this is the message a player on the screen after it's connected.
admin_cs_restrict - preferably 1 to restrict weapons in the game. (anti-apasaci)
admin_debug - we work, so let it 0
admin_fun_mode - preferably leave it 0. This cvar will make the players glow in color (blue glow).
admin_fx - 1. Unic effects.
admin_gag_name - 0 or 1 depending on preference.
admin_gag_sayteam - just.
admin_highlander - should be left as 0. If we get 1, only one admin, the largest, will have access to commands. For example, if 3 admins on the server, most remain, and the other 2 will only be slots.
admin_ignore_immunity - depends on taste. If it's set to 1, admins, moderators and other players with immunity can give / take Slay's, kick ban, to each other.
admin_repeat_msg - A message that appears in green on the screen every few minutes.
admin_quiet - if 0, the commands will appear with the admin nick. If you write 1, the orders will appear but will appear instead of the admin only "Admin" and if you 2, commands will not appear at all.
allow_client_exec - 1! With this you can force the players to execute any command (quit, etc.)
password_field - the most important cvar. What we here are admins must write in the console before connecting to the server. Eg. if we _password, admin gigi with password gigi123 must write in console name gigi setinfo _password gigi123 before connecting to the server.
reserve_slots - Here we have reserved seats each server. Pass around 2-3. The admin and reserved slots to connect when the server is full.
reserve_type - Let 0. S best. If you're curious what it does, read the manual adminmod.
You will notice that some variable we passed. That means it is recommended to leave them as they are.

How add / remove admins
We open with Wordpad users.ini. Here we name and administrator passwords, followed by access to the server. Say we want to make an admin with maximum access name and password gigi123 gigi. Users.ini go in this line:
Code:
Gigi: gigi123: 131071

For custom access levels, go to http://www.adminmod.org/help/online/Adm ... mmands.htm and select what you want to add admin commands. Then click "computer access right" and the resulting number, you go to user.ini after name and password admin. Just as in the example with gigi, only replace the product number 131071. As a small bracket, lines will be an admin in another and not consecutive.

WARNING! If you tried to login with password-setinfo _password your orders and will not go, connect to the server by name and type admin in console users.ini admin_passworld password-ta of users.ini!

StatsMe
I downloaded earlier statsme-2.8.3-cstrike.zip to be extracted in the folder cstrike. This is done through the commands:
Code:
cd / usr / hlds / cstrike
unzip statsme-2.8.3-cstrike.zip

First off, go to / usr / hlds / cstrike / addons / metamod and open plugins.ini with pico, nano or mcedit. Here, add this line above the existing ones:
Code:
Linux addons/statsme/dlls/statsme_mm_i386.so

Then go to / usr / hlds / cstrike / addons / statsme and open statsme.cfg with pico, nano or mcedit. In sm_menupassword modify r3wt with another password. Definitely should change the password otherwise would go some stuff. Then when we come into play, we write in the console statsme_menu password-last-in-statsme.cfg to modify last settings.

To go / rank and / top10
You need to open the same statsme.cfg and the sm_storebyauth to put 0 instead of 1

Secure Server
It is preferable to have a non-secure server for several reasons. To do this, you must go to the / usr / hlds / cstrike and open liblist.gam with Wordpad. There'll change secure "1" with secure "0" save and exit.

Starting the server
Go to the / usr / hlds and execute the command:
Code:
. / hlds_run game cstrike-ip ip.de.internet sv_lan 1-18 map nomaster maxplayers de_dust2

To start the server on screen, use the command:
Code:
screen-A-m-d-S hlds. / hlds_run game cstrike-ip ip.de.internet sv_lan 1-18 map nomaster maxplayers de_dust2

This command, launch the server in the background. To attach us again he writes:
Code:
screen-r hlds

To send him back in the background, keep the Ctrl key, press A, keep pressed and then press D.

For CS server to start at each boot the Linux server, you must add these lines to / etc / rc.local
Code:
cd / usr / hlds
screen-A-m-d-S hlds. / hlds_run game cstrike-ip ip.de.internet sv_lan 1-18 map nomaster maxplayers de_dust2
